Possibly by A. J. Strachan, London, circa 1830, unmarked except for later French import marks
Oblong, the sides each guilloché enamelled with two brightly coloured birds of Paradise amid enamelled swirling foliage and flowers in shades of red, green, pink, white and blue highlighted with black detail, on a textured gold ground, the sides with chased foliate borders, the grille engraved and pierced with an urn and bird of Paradise amid swirling flowers and foliage, marked on side and grille bezel
