A decorative mid 20th-Century cast iron and brass model of a twin vertical cylinder pear crank pumping engine,
with cylinders 1½in. bore x 2in. stroke, inward facing centrally mounted valve chests with separate steamways, the crankshaft bearings mounted in cast open 'A' shaped frames joined by a decorative arch, centrally mounted flywheel, pear cranks with barrelled connecting rods and each crosshead direct coupled to two feed pumps, making four in all, with further details including belt and gear-driven governor mounted within a brass framework, the whole finished in dark green and brightwork and mounted on a cast floor -- 17¼ x 12in. (43.8 x 30.5cm.)
