A porcelain figure of a seated pug-dog
19th century, most probably Meissen
After a model by Johann Joachim Kaendler (circa 1745), naturalistically painted in colours, the dog with white fur enhanced in brown to its paws, tail and head, seated to the right, its pink-rimmed peering eyes looking forward, wearing a deep blue ribbon with fixed gilt bells around its neck (one bell missing)
