A large Meissen-pattern Passau equestrian figure of King Augustus the Strong
19th century, with blue interlaced C mark
Gilt and painted in colours, the corpulent August with dark long curly hair, dressed in Roman tunic, seated on a lion's skin on a prancing caparisoned white horse with gilt harness enhanced with precious gems and long curly tail, on canted rectangular rockwork base applied with flowers (minor repairs)
