A Meissen Punktzeit floral Kauffahrteiszenen tea service
Circa 1763-1774, with underglaze blue crossed swords mark enclosing a dot and various Pressnummern
Painted in colours with vignettes depicting merchants at various pursuits on quaysides in front of distant architectural structures and ships, flanked by sprays of Deutsche Blumen, the edge gilt, the covers decorated en suite with flowerbud finial, comprising: a bulbous teapot and flat cover with green-enhanced flowering branch handle and spout, 11cm. high; a baluster milkjug and cover with green-enhanced branch handle and pointed flower-shaped spout, 14.5cm. high; a sugarbowl and domed cover, 10cm. high; an ogival pattipan, 17cm. wide; five coffee cups and saucers with green-enhanced branch handles; four tea bowls and saucers with loop handle (restored)
