Lot Essay

Brookshaw's Pomona Britannica is the finest English work on fruit. It was published in large folio, and in this smaller folio format featuring 60 of the fruits then grown in and around London, especially at the Royal Gardens at Hampton Court.

Brookshaw also taught the art of watercolor, and also created designs for English Neoclassical furniture.
