A PAIR OF MEISSEN COBALT-BLUE GROUND VASES AND COVERS
Circa 1880, blue crossed swords marks, incised L141 and impressed 8, probably designed by Leuteritz
Each domed cover with pod finial, the waisted neck flanked by fantastic lion-headed winged female handles, finely enamelled en grisaille in the Renaissance style with a strapwork band set with Espagnolettes alternating with winged putto masks suspending and conjoined by clusters of fruit, enriched in gilt, on knopped socle and circular foot enamelled with grotesques

Lot Essay
