Super-chancery 2° (308x217mm). Collation: a-b8 c-z10 10 A-H10 I8 (a1title, a2r register, c1 letter from Gregory to Bp. Leander, c2v preface, c5v text, I7v colophon, I8 blank). 344 leaves. 49-50 lines and headline, double column. Type: 3*:74(90)G, 8:93aG, 15:175G (title). Lombard capitals, 5- to 10-line initial spaces with guide-letters. (Occasional light foxing, small wormholes in first and last few quires affecting a few letters.) Fine contemporary Italian brown goatskin over thin wooden boards, blindstamped, four catches without clasps, brass catchplates on back cover, (some wear to covers and spine ends), title written on lower and fore-edge. Provenance: inscription on title partly blotted out; note in Spanish dated 1640 on title verso.

In this, his longest work, Gregory begins with the literal meaning of the Book of Job and moves on to examine its mystical and allegorical senses.
