Half-titles, titles with engraved vignettes, folding engraved map of Yemen with hand-coloured routes, 124 engraved plates, 42 folding, including 33 maps and plans (8 folding) and 22 plates with city views and panoramas (13 folding), several with 2 views per plate, the remaining plates showing local costumes, ceremonies and antiquities. (Plate 24 of vol. I loose, plate 30 of vol. II torn across image, one or two plates lightly browned or with short clean marginal tears, occasional slight marginal spotting.)
