A PAIR OF POTSCHAPPEL (CARL THIEME) OGEE-SHAPED VASES AND COVERS painted with 18th Century figures at rural pastimes in idyllic landscapes, one group playing a game of backgammon beneath moulded pink drapery tied in knots, the sides modelled in high relief with maidens holding leaves and flowers and seated above turquoise and gilt scrolls, the spirally moulded covers applied and painted with flowers and modelled with crowned rococo scroll cartouches painted with Coats-of-Arms and with cherub supporters, on spirally moulded spreading circular feet applied with flowers (chips to extremities and small parts lacking, one with body cracks), blue cross and T marks, circa 1890
