Lot Essay

The present work is the only painting of the Bedford Music Hall to depict the three Lloyd sisters, Rosie, Gracie and Alice. Bella Orchard, the girls' cousin appears to have left the group when Rosie's sisters were old enough to go on stage. The original Sisters Lloyd, Rosie and Bella Orchard, are the subject of a group of paintings and studies from 1888-9
