Excellent appearance
Tasting note: first drunk in 1971: rich, rounded, fabulous wine. Full marks in magnum in 1986 and again, in bottle at a recent vertical tasting. Very deep, with very mature rim; rich, ripe, stolid, slightly malty nose; very sweet, very full-bodied, almost burning with alcohol, chunky, laden with tannin and acidity. Magnificent.
