With circular nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, the silvered matt dial with applied Arabic and dagger numerals, gilt dauphine hands, the square-shaped case with engine-turned sunburst decoration to the bezel, engraved inscription to the snap on back, together with an 18K gold woven bracelet with 18K pink gold deployant buckle stamped GF for Gay Freres and signed Cartier, accompanied by Cartier original fitted red leather presentation box, case hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers, dial signed Cartier, movement signed European Watch and Clock Co. Inc.

Lot Essay

This watch is accompanied with the original 18K gold woven bracelet which is signed Cartier and stamped GF for Gay Freres. Gay Freres of Geneva specialized in jewelry, and had a tremendous reputation for producing high quality bracelets for wristwatches. They made bracelets for several important firms, including Patek Philippe, Rolex and Cartier.
