AN AUSTRIAN FOUR-PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE
Late 19th century, maker's mark VC
Comprising tea kettle, stand and bone-handled lamp, teapot, two-handled covered sugar bowl and cream jug, each inverted pear-form, on short circular base, twice engraved with foliate strapwork and griffin enclosed vacant cartouche, the teapot with foliate joined scroll handle, plain spout, the pots with broadly fluted collar, the hinged slightly raised part-engraved cover topped by carved bone finial, the tea kettle with part of finial, on bifurcated and waisted scrolling stand, height of kettle on stand over part bone swing handle--16in. (40.6cm.) high, gross weight 73oz. (4)
