Lot Essay
Ramon Alejandro, a constant and exacting creator, is neither a prolific painter nor illustrator; the consummate finish of his works prevents him from being so. Each painting demands an effort whose impeccable nature occasions a deliberate lentitude.
His painting Allá Va Eso done in Miami is a magnificent example of his possibilities of capturing fantasy and faithfulness to reality as well as its concealment. In the background of the canvas we see the El Morro fortifications in Havana. As a departure point from that fort, we see a construction that rises to an unknown horizon projected in the air. It comprises an image of the adventures of the Cuban, in which rootage and rupture are inseparable.
