Lot Essay

This was produced for the 150th anniversary of the fashion house. A large party was held and a house built from scarves was erected at the Ile de la Cité on the Pont Neuf overlooking Paris. Two of these figures, larger than life, emerged; one is now in the roof garden of 24 Faubourg St Honoré, the headquarters of Hermès, holding two scarves like flags. Each guest at the party was given one of these figures.
