AN IRANIAN BRONZE VESSEL

The squat ovoid vessel with inward sloping shoulders and a flaring rim, with a band of tongue above a plain band at its broadest width, an incised band of six goats interspersed with plant motifs on the shoulders, with two opposing groups of three rivets on the shoulders presumably for attachment of now-missing handles; together with an Iranian bronze votive mirror of similar date, disk-shaped with a rectangular projection ornamented with three registers of stylized animals; and a Parthian bronze openwork belt buckle, circa 150 B.C.-A.D. 225, with a stylized mouflon facing left within a rectangular frame
