A GREEK TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A BOY
circa 3rd century b.c.
Seated on a rock with his right knee slightly raised, his left leg lowered, supporting himself on his lowered right hand, his left hand resting on his thigh, nude but for a short cloak or chlamys pinned on his right shoulder, enveloping his left shoulder and arm and spread out beneath him, his head angled slightly to his right, his freely modeled hair adorned with a rimmed flat hat or kausia above a thick, stippled wreath, areas of surviving polychrome throughout, including blue for the wreath, and red for the hair and lips
