A related pair of Connecticut watercolors which depict the prodigal son with harlots and dated 1778 are owned privately and illustrated at right. The similar manner in which the faces are rendered, especially the eyes, the detail of the dress, the shapely legs of the Queen Anne tea table, and the overall positioning of the figures suggest they maybe painted by the same hand.
