That trend has continued, so that its reputation now stands alongside that of the finest in the village. Judicious use of new oak barrels - never too many - is one of the hallmarks of the estate. Purity of fruit, with remarkable concentration, are others. Jean-Marc Blain loves the subtle, stony, white fruit aromas which come from his greatest vineyards, and these are memorably evident, once bottle-age has worked its magic on his wines. AH
