A xeroxed copy of the painting inscribed 'This watercolor is the work of my uncle, John Singer Sargent. Reine Pitman' is attached to the backing.

Executed circa 1907-8, this painting is to be included in the forthcoming J. S. Sargent catalogue raisonné by Richard Ormond and Elaine Kilmurray, in collaboration with Warren Adelson and Elizabeth Oustinoff.
