A LOUIS XVI STYLE ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK WITH MATCHED GARNITURE

The glazed circular white enamel dial with arabic chapters signed 'MARTIN ET FRERES PARIS' within a rectangular case cornered by foliate pendants beneath a fluted top surmounted by a classical urn hung with drapery swags flanked by satyr masks issuing fruiting cornucopia, on a shaped rectangular plinth centering ribbon-tied blossoming rose branches flanked by paterae, raised on foliate cast toupie feet--20in. (51cm.) high, together with, a pair of ormolu and griotte marble six-light candelabra, each with ovi-form body flanked by foliate handles suspending blossoming swags beneath a waisted neck supporting scrolling foliate candlearms, on a circular socle and eared rectangular plinth, the ormolu stamped 'H. The name of H.Picard appears on gilt-bronze objets d'art as well as furniture mounts of the mid to late 19th century. The stamp is particularly small and little is known about this maker.
