In Renaissance taste; the bulbous lobed body chased with grotesque masks, scrolling foliage and fruit against a matted ground, the shoulder applied with three caryatids supporting turtles on their heads, the handles formed as wild masks with braided beards, the base engraved with inscription, signed by the artist, also with French control mark for 1864-1893
