Probably Augsburg, circa 1740
Rectangular, with ogee-fluted corners, on four scroll feet, the obverse and reverse of cover, sides and base inlaid with chased and engraved gold hunting scenes, the corners inlaid with gold scrolls, fitted with a removable mother-of-pearl compartment containing two gold-mounted bottles inlaid with gold cartouches and engraved gold caps, a knife with steel blade and another instrument, each with mother-of-pearl handle, apparently unmarked
