A RARE CLOISONNE ENAMEL AND GILT-BRONZE JARDINIERE
JIAQING PERIOD (1796-1820)

Of rectangular section with canted corners, the jardiniere is decorated with gilt-bronze panels on the four sides, cast in repoussé to depict pairs of catfish suspended from musical stones flanked by bats and clusters of peach against a ground of swirling cloud-scrolls, the cloisonné enamelled borders with floral and foliate scrolls, all supported on four bracket feet, fitted with a pewter lining
