A Napoleon III ormolu-mounted satinwood, parquetry and ivory semi-grand piano
By Erard, Circa 1850; The movement numbered 465
Inlaid all over with panels of parquetry, with bows and rosettes, the hinged lid enclosing the movement stamped 465 on the metal frame, inscribed in ink Par Brevet d'Invention/Seb & Pre Erard/13&21 rue du Mail/Paris, with a hinged music stand, signed Erard under the hinged lid, with ebony and ivory keys, above a lyre-shaped pedal stand numbered twice with marque au feu 9460 and 99712, on three fluted tapering legs, on castors

Sir Thomas Beecham (imported by him from France circa 1910);
Then by descent until sold by Lady Beecham in 1962.
