The later veneered top above a dentil-carved cornice and two short over three long graduated cockbeaded drawers, the angled sides with pierced C-scroll foliate volute brackets, and pendant bellflower carving, the base with three long graduated cockbeaded drawers, on bracket feet, the top right hand corner carved volute bracket possibly replaced, the later lock stamped PATENT
74 1/3in. (189cm.) high, 50½in. (128cm.) wide, 24½in. (62cm.) deep

A chest-on-chest with nearly identical unusual carved angles is illustrated in M. Jourdain and R. Edwards, English Furniture: The Georgian Period 1750-1830, London, 1953, p.154, fig.125 and was sold Christie's London, 7 April 1983, lot 145.
