The overall form of this table with Grecian spindle-ends relates to an 1818 pattern in the Estimate Sketch Book of Gillows of London and Lancaster (G. Wills, Craftsmen and Cabinet-Makers of Classic English Furniture, London, 1974, p. 123). A related rosewood table, bearing the stamp of James Winter (retailer) is illustrated in C. Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840, Leeds, 1996, p. 497, fig. 1022.
