A RARE PAINTED GRAY POTTERY FIGURE OF A SWAN
HAN DYNASTY

The hollow-molded figure well painted in lavender, pale red, pale yellowish-green and white with feathers on the wings and more ornate and fanciful feathers on the long, graceful neck, the tail feathers spread in a trefoil and the top of the head pierced with a circular aperture, all of the decoration reserved on the dark gray pottery ground which creates the outlines between the various segments (small rim chips)
