One rider seated astride a horse painted red and standing foursquare, her hands positioned to hold the reins as she looks to her right, wearing a long, pale gray tunic with open collar and long sleeves blown back by the wind, her waist encircled by a thick roll secured with a knotted sash, the other rider with her hands differently positioned to rein-in the head of her pawing mount painted in pale gray, wearing a scarf draped around the neck of her high-waisted dress, also with backswept sleeves, each with her hair pulled up into a topknot, traces of red, black and pale blue-gray pigment (some restoration)
