AN UNUSUAL SMALL YINGQING OCTAGONAL EWER AND COVER

The faceted, globular body set on the canted shoulder with a curved spout and a ribbed strap handle surmounted by a tubular loop corresponding to one on the rounded rim of the cover, which is shallowly carved with eight petals surrounding the scalloped border of an eight-petaled flower encircling the recessed center with its stem finial, the interior of the neck of the ewer also cut with eight shallow scallops, covered allover with a transparent glaze of pale grayish blue-green color (small rim chip to cover)
