THREE JADE VESSELS
LATE MING DYNASTY
One a rectangular grayish-green jade ewer and cover, the raised panels on two sides carved in low relief with a prunus tree, an ornamental rock and narcissus, surrounded by incised foliate scroll repeated on the cover below a lion finial, the stone thickly cut and semi-translucent; one a grayish-white jade octagonal cup incised below the rim with key-pattern interrupted by a pair of angular handles through which a pair of dragons have crawled from the side to the rim where they now face each other, the semi-translucent stone with fine black speckling; the third a pale greenish-white jade cup with flared sides carved in low relief with two landscape scenes separated by a pair of scroll handles, the stone semi-translucent and with some pale russet mottling (ground chips to ewer)
