TWO CORAL CARVINGS OF FEMALE IMMORTALS

The first group carved as two slender figures standing in a slight sway on rock formations issuing from spume-flecked waves, one holding a whisk, the other a ribbon-tied cash, a pair of birds and a small male and female attendant standing on adjacent rocky ledges; the second carved as a single figure shown standing slightly stooped behind a phoenix perched on stylized clouds, holding a peony branch in one hand, and a ruyi scepter suspending paired fish from a loose chain in the other, the stone of bright orange tone (some damage and repair, the second figure restored)
Both approx. 9in. (22.8cm.) high, wood stands
