A French Phenakistiscope with turned wood handle with brass mounting screw, 22cm. diameter decorated slotted disc and eight 18cm. diameter discs with coloured engravings on reverse and obverse including a cobbler, a woman at a water pump, leapfrogging men, a dancing couple, man on a hobbey horse, bear tamer, a knife sharpener, juggler and others, mirror (cracked) with gilt metal and paper tape frame, in a fitted wooden box (base section replaced), lid with printed instructions in French and English Magic Disk an entirely new invention.
