Made for the Turkish market, with a plain silver inner case hallmarked for London, 1849, maker's mark J.B./W.W. incuse, intermediary case with watchmaker's paper label printed 'Edud Prior George Prior: clock and watchmakers London' also hallmarked for London, 1849 and outer tortoiseshell case with silver piqué design, with onion leather travelling case and associated Turkish silver chain, the white enamel dial with Turkish numerals signed Edward Prior London, the gilt chain fusée movement with verge escapement and pierced foliate cock and foot, the movement also signed Edwd Prior London and numbered 64335 2½in. (6cm.) diameter outer case
