The canted rectangular top with foliate and gothic pierced gallery above an elaborate open scrolled base and acanthus-carved cabriole legs with scrolled foliate toes and casters 29¼in. (74cm.) high, 26in. (66cm.) wide, 21½in. (55cm.)

Lot Essay

A tripod table with similar base was sold from Hartwell House, Buckinghamshire, Sotheby's London, 26 April 1938, lot 263 and is currently in the Noel Terry Collection at Fairfax House, York (illustrated in The Noel Terry Collection of Furniture and Clocks, 1987, no.121, p.123).
