A large Satsuma vase painted and heavily gilt with two rectangular panels, one with a warrior in armour standing with a bow and arrows, two kneeling attendants beside him, before a silk drape suspended from trees in a mountainous river landscape, the other with a warrior and attendant before a maple and a pine tree in a similar style landscape, all on a ground of ho-o, floral and geometric designs (slight gilt rubbing) -- 22½in. high.
