A COMPOTE, either silver plated or low grade silver, possibly assembled, the shallow oval bowl in urn form stem on raised waisted circular base, the base applied with fruit swags quartered by ram's mask, the urn flanked by two seated grasping putti, the underside of bowl chased with vertical panels of stylized flowers, centering acanthus calyx, with two upswept foliate handles, with bifurcated join, with tongue and dart rims--10¼in. (26cm.) high
