A GEORGE III SILVER TEA KETTLE, STAND AND LAMP, maker's mark of John Payne, London, 1766, one side of the inverted pear form kettle engraved with coat of arms within engraved rocaille, foliate scroll and floral surround, with partly fluted, foliate capped scroll spout, the collar and short waisted neck rim applied with gadrooned band, with foliate joins to the raffia part wrapped multi scroll swing handle, the partly domed detachable cover topped by foliate bud finial, the twice chained circular stand with pierced quatrefoil shoulder and gadrooned rim, raised on three foliate S scroll supports on shell feet, with openwork rocaille and scroll apron between--height over swing handle 16½in. (41.9cm.) high, gross weight 71.5oz.
