A boxed musical toy of dancing composition and wood dolls, each figure suspended on bristles over a card diaphragm - 7in. square, circa 1880, German, ( converted to be run by a Meccano engine )
Provenance
This toy was the property of Miss Ellen West, governess to the children of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh in the 1890s. The Duchess was the daughter of Tzar Nicholas II, and gave several toys to Miss West.
