Each set with an old mine-cut diamond measuring approximately 11.80 x 11.50 x 7.50 mm, suspended from a smaller old mine-cut diamond, each within a platinum collet mount; and a pair of gold sphere 'carriage covers' (altered to be worn as an additional pair of earrings)
Carriage covers where worn in the 1800s by a woman who was traveling. They were placed over her diamond solitaire earrings to disguise them and, thereby, protect her from being robbed. (2)
