A pair of late Victorian candlesticks in the neo-classical taste, each on a rising beaded shaped square base stamped with vases and acanthus leaf corners, the tapering square stems decorated with rams' masks, bows and foliate wreaths and swags, the foliate-stamped and beaded vase-shaped sockets fitted with detachable nozzles, each with a presentation inscription and also later-fitted for electricity, Martin Hall & Co., London 1892 - 11¾in.
