Lot Essay

Jadine's letter was written one day after the drawn Calcutta test match on the 8th of January. He played his last Test at Madras in February, and never returned to India as Captain or player. C.K. Nayudu, India's first captain in Test cricket, toured England as vice-captain in 1936.
