THE DEMIDOFF COLLECTION The following nineteen lots were commissioned by Count Demidoff-San Donato from the Italian artist J. Prodocimi. They are copies of his uncle, Prince Demidoff's, renowned collection which was sold in Florence on March 15th, 1880. The fans were sold at the end of the century at the Hotel Drouot, Paris to Mr. Lefebre, who later sold them to the Fanmaker M. Faucon, whose nephew M. P. Hainque sold them to this collector on the 21st April, 1925.

This painting and those referring to lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16 were hung in the Grande Galerie Flamande et Hollandaise in the Palace.

The collector valued this fan at 3000 francs in the 1920s.
