A fine linen coverlet, embroidered in brightly coloured silks, gilt and silver gilt threads and embellished with spangles, with a central medallion worked with a large flowerhead surrounded by scrolling leaves, seedpods and other exotic flowers, each corner with similar medallions linked by trailing tendrils and flowers, with fowering shrubs above the borders, trimmed with gold lace, quilted with a delicate pattern of curling leaves--60in square, English, circa 1720
