PETE TOWNSHEND
A smashed 1971 six string Guild J200 shape acoustic folk guitar, ebony fretboard, mother-of-pearl inlays, gold Grover machine heads, signed and inscribed on the body Pete Townshend, May 1989, 42in. long, in case; and a typescript letter, signed, dated 30th May 1989, giving the history of the guitar ..I used it to record 'Behind Blue Eyes'...and at my home in London for demos - including all the songs on 'Who's Next (except 'Pinball Wizard' and 'Won't Get Fooled Again') I broke it in 1973 in a rage of frustration in my studio..I am not very proud of all this..Pete Townshend 1p. on headed paper.
