Turner (J.M.W.), John Ruskin, and William Pickering -- Rogers (Samuel): Poems, 8vo, 1834 [Lowndes 2117], inscribed on front free-endpaper 'Arthur Burgess, with John Ruskin's kind regards', and with a 1p. a.l.s. by William Pickering the publisher, tipped in at rear, in which he states that Rogers told him 'he had never made one shilling by his poetry' and that Turner 'had 5 guineas for the use of each drawing', stating that 'the great expense was the printing. This occured in my shop & I was present', 72 proof engraved vignettes by Turner and Thomas Stothard, later sea green morocco, gilt, by F. Bedford, covers with triple gilt fillet borders and floral cornerpieces, spine gilt in six sections, with raised bands, gilt inner dentelles, g.e.
