A Victorian cast iron fire grate, the 'U' shaped basket with railed serpentine front, the apron raised with figures of caryatid putti, griffins, masks and foliage, the square tapering reeded uprights modelled with goats' head masks and lambrequin swags, with bronzed navette shaped urn finials, the arched backplate raised with paterae, the reverse with registration number, 323185 and inscribed No. 8 DOG STOVE NO. 11 -- 36½in.
