Sold with this lot is a copy of a letter written by the assistant keeper of the RijksMuseum, Amsterdam in 1968, stating that the cloth was woven in Flanders to commemorate Prince Eugenius of Savoy's capture of Lille in 1709 (Lille translates as Rissel in Flemish)
