Lot Essay

First issue, not in BM or Blackmer, with 8 plates A Greek Peasant, Turkish Recruit, A Turkish Gentleman, A Musician of the Harem, An Egyptian Soldier, A Syrian, Merchant, and A Bedouin Sheikh, omitted from the second issue. The manuscript portion of the publishing contract authorises Richard Bentley to select 'embellishments' the cost not to exceed one guinea each, the expense to be met by himself.
